Can anyone give me some ideas on how to prevent carport storage unit break ins? Our cabinets are in front of each car, made out of wood and the doors lock with just an owner-supplied lock. During the day, most of the cars are gone and these dirt bags are having a field day in our storage cabinets. No one keeps anything of real value in them . . . and many of them are being broken open but nothing is being taken . . . Does anyone have an idea on how to provide storage in this limited space that is more secure? If we have to repair or replace them, perhaps there is a better product we can use or buy? Thank you for your help.

Better locks, better doors, alarm system, security cameras, contact the police for each and every break in so patrols are stepped up, neighborhood watch, etc.

If it were me, I'd look at getting an inexpensive game camera (shown as an example) and mounting it out of sight to cover the storage unit. This won't prevent the break in but may provide evidence for the police to arrest the individuals involved - which may curtail the issue.

Hope this helps,

Tim
