Does anyone have an idea on how to campaign for our upcoming election. How I can get my name out and get people to vote for me? Our community is such a mess, and I believe I can be of help if elected.

Mail information to homeowners, or go door to door with what you want for your community. Doing your own web site sometimes helps but I've found I had to print it and leave it door to door. For an example, go to www.watersedgeowners.com.

It's best to go shake hands and do a meet and greet. These are the people you plan on working for, you may as well meet them. Take notes on what they want improved or see fixed. Explain to them your point of view and what you want to see happen/change.
I would also GREATLY advice that you take time and study what your getting into. Read your CC&R's/Bylaw/Incorporation documentation and KNOW it like the back of your hand! Understand how a HOA works and what your responsibiliies are if you win. You can't promise the people voting for you that you can get them new mailboxes when that isn't a HOA responsibility.
Do something in your community even without being a board member yet. Something like starting a neighborhood watch. You may not need board approval to start a crime-fighting group meant to watch your neighbors homes. A neighborhood watch is somewhat outside of the HOA responsibilities.
Just be honest in what you can do and what your limitations are.
