To JanetB2...can you explain your comment in regards to our HOA president wanting to be a paid person and manage our HOA just because he has his CAM license?

I think she was saying that he would be an employee - working for the board. There is the possibility that he could be fired if the board is not pleased with his performance as a paid employee.

How would the board handle that?

LOL … just keep in mind at some point there might be an issue where your board may be required to FIRE their neighbor. If this becomes necessary (1) are they willing do it and (2) how much hate and discontent will it cause throughout the membership.

If you mean this one on your other post …

Some HOA’s run into issues with their Management Company. Even though the individual has his license and is a legal company if you hire he also is still a member of the community. If there is ever an issue even though he is a member, the board must be willing to terminate the contract as allowed or if needed.

However, the other side of the coin is the individual possibly becomes disgruntled and then runs around bad mouthing the board that had to fire or terminate. Even though the board had cause because the individual did not properly perform their commitment.

Just be prepared for potential consequences should you choose that road …
