hey everyone!

I designed a website for my dads condo building (he owns a unit) and they thought it was great. He said I should try talk to the other condo buildings in the area because what I created was of great use to them.

Would the expense of a new website and the benefits be brought up at a meeting for the board to vote on? Just curious of the process that's involved.

P.S. my dads fairly old and doesn't know much about the inner workings of the HOA, so thats why i joined here =D

If you're up for it, you can contact other HOAs and offer your services. My bet is you'll have to offer a presentation at a board meeting and gauge if they want or need your service. It's like anything else. The board votes to enter contracts and you've got to assume their current budgets contain provisions for paying for a website.

Although we could have decided to have a website without a vote of the members, we did put this item to a vote at the annual meeting. We had about 70% of the members with present and almost 50% voted for a website. Since we only needed 36% for it to pass we are going to get a website. YEAH!

Since we put it to a vote, we got a couple more ideas for preparing a website. Just FYI
