Well the election has come and gone----- We now have a bigger voice of representation amongst our neighbors...13 B.O.D. and of those, 6 are the voice of the Members here...Yahoo
We finally got the vote to have the State of Florida mandatory AUDIT -- another YAHOO
On a sadder note---- I was defeated in my bid for a seat on the B,O.D...... Not to worry things happen for a reason and I am still a happy camper.... I will be placed on the By Law Commitee for review and updated verbage and that to me is far more important than a seat on the B.O.D. I was real proud of the Members who for the first time in years rose and spoke....My continual effort to keep them informed about the By Laws,Deed Restrictions,and most important FLA STATE STATUTES paid off handsomely....An educated Member is a good Member..The B.O.D. now recognizes we will no longer be a silent majority under their RULE......
Of course there was an incident that occured and another good reason why proxies need to go by the roadside. A fellow Member and an ATTORNEY TO BOOT.....OVERSLEPT..........OOOOHHHHHH and he had 16 -yes -SIXTEEN proxies and if he had showed I would have defeated the BOD that needed to end his 26 year reign of terror...I would have had 2 more votes than he,but as I said earlier--- I am still happy and do not feel defeated...........My heart breaks for those 16 folks who entrusted their vote to this guy and I know this a.m. he must feel about 2 feet tall...But hey stuff happens and when God gives you lemons -- make lemonade and be happy....
I personally want to thank each of you and HOA TALK for all your support and GREAT words of wisdom these past few months...Without you I would still be an angry Member and not where I am today.....A great big cyberspace hug to each of you.....There is hope at the end of the rainbow-- not a pot of gold..
