I'm considering serving on our HOA board, but would like to know if the D&O
coverage we have is adequate. I've never served on an HOA board and have some
reservations about the inherent risks of serving on the board (i.e. of being
personally sued for actions taken by the board).

Would anyone be willing to look through our D&O insurance and give me advice
on whether is good or bad coverage?

Here's a link to the PDF (towards the top left-hand area of the window will
be the filename "DO_insurance.pdf". Just click on that link to download the file).

Mike

MikeW9,

Would you provide more instructions on using “fileswap”. It is not a program I use.

I did find the “fileswap” site OK – but it seems that I need to create an account in order to get to your D&O document. Is that correct?

Thank you in advance.

Ellie,

All you have to do is go to the URL and look near the upper left-hand
corner for the words "DO_insurance.pdf". You should be able to click that file
name (the words "DO_insurance should be underlined and in blue). It will say:

Filename: DO_insurance.pdf

policy terms seem a-ok

just be sure the $$$$ coverage will cover your personal 'net worth'

Mike,

I quickly scanned your D&O coverage pdf (once I inputted the URL correctly - don’t ask) – it seems to be similar coverage to what we have.

FYI – we are a small association under 100 members, condominium units - we have $2,000,000 D&O insurance both per Occurrence and Aggregate. Depending upon your needs a higher limit might be available.

Same as us. Seems like the default amount.

The amount of D&O insurance also depends on how much litigation your association has.

Thanks everyone for your input. I feel a little more at ease about serving on the board now.

Mike
