(I don't know if posting a link in the subject line worked or not until the actual posting of this thread. If it didn't work, I apologize in advance)

This is an update to my situation of having nobody willing to serve on the Board and was discussed in this earlier thread.

After three newsletters identifying the problems associated with not having a quorum on the board and the available options if no volunteers came forward, I'm happy to post that two individuals did volunteer. The remaining board members will appoint them at our next meeting.

I want to thank everyone again for assisting me through this issue (even if it was just letting me vent at times).

Carol, I truly believe that it wouldn't have happened without the assistance of you, John and others assisting in writing the first article that was published.

That's good news Tim. I'm sure most (if not all) of us know the problems of apathy in an HOA/COA. I have personally seen how quickly and positively things can change with just a few members taking a serious interest in their community - you wouldn't recognize our association from what it was just 8 months ago.

Best of luck with your new board members!

Congrats on the new victims...I mean members! LOL!!! My HOA no one wanted to join until I made it look "easy" and straightened things out. So you must be doing something right to get some volunteers! My saying is "There's ALWAYS a bigger fish"...My job was to make sure there was always a bigger fish who would want to eat me one day...

Tim,

Protect your delicate quorum and neighbors' volunteer willingness by asking them how much commitment they can give, whether a monthly, quarterly or annual meeting (or as dictated by by-laws which trump this).

I saved some good board members who planned to quit by eliminating extraneous meetings and returning to our HOA's mandated quarterly meeting schedule unless an urgent matter needs addressing in the meantime.

Congratulations!
