Some of unit owners in our association have issues with their roofs and are trying to organize inspection for all units. Our roof so far does not need immediate maintenance and we have other priorities to take care before this project. Can Board forcibly make us participating in this project? Can we reject unwanted inspection offers on our roof organized by other unit owners? There was no vote for this project on annual meeting.

Please help!
Thanks in advance

If it's just an inspection then it shouldn't cost anything. Plus if your roof has no issues, then why prevent others that do have issues from getting those addressed? Is the HOA responsible for roof maintenance/repairs or is it the individual homeowners? Sometimes your priorities have to take a back seat to others priorities. Just don't have your roof fixed but inspected with everyone else. No harm no foul. Your going to have to pay for it anyways if it's a group effort for the repairs. Why not co-operate and get it over with?

if the HOA is responsible for the maintenance of the roof then yes you have to go along with what they want...with that said this should be discussed and voted on and approved by the board at a meeting and there should also be money in reserves or the budget set aside for this.

We are not trying to prevent other unit owners to fix their roofs, we just do not need to participate in this project now. That was my question. Any help?

State your objection to the board, ultimately it is their decision. I will say this, your roof may appear to be in good shape but they might want to just make sure it is...nothing more frustrating than doing a project on part of the development and turning around one month later and having to do the exact same thing to the other half because someone didn't look or ask the right questions.
