We have a couple who are angry about everything and in the five years they've owned their unit - their daughter lives in it - they have had more violations than anyone ever! He ran for the board and was elected last November - thanks to cumulative voting and a campaign of lying about pretty much everything to absentee owners (who make up a third of our membership). He has been a horrible board member and now his wife is running (while he's still on the board) thanks to a loophole in our Bylaws. She's even nastier and more obstructive than he is. Many owners are up in arms about this but - until the bylaws are changed - she's sure to get elected. Have any of you ever encountered anything like this in your communities?
Thanks is advance for any advice you may have ;-)

Read your bylaws and start a camaign to remove the board. Start with getting signatures to have a special meeting with the purpose of removing and electing a new board, get proxies together, and have people willing to be members of the board

The only way to prevent two members from the same household from serving on the Board is to amend the governing documents stating that this isn't allowed to happen. You might also want to remove cumulative voting as an option.

Amend the bylaws to eliminate cumulative and prosy voying. Go the California route to absentee ballots.
