Community Associations do not have the right to disturb the peace and hold crowded noisy events directly in front of our homes without regard to residents. If you agree with this statement please sign this petition:

You need to define what a crowd is. You need to define what constitutes a noisy event.

The concern you list "Buyers may prefer not to buy a home near the common area" applies to community playgrounds and other amenities. It's most likely a true statement but, as I posted, applies to other community amenities as well. Therefore, I wouldn't consider this a strong reason in the petition.

Has anyone ever called the police about the noise?

By the way:

Having non-residents and non-owners sign the petition typically has little to no influence to a member of the Board.

Having people unable to vote in the jurisdiction a law is being proposed typically has little to no influence to a member of the legislature.

AG,

How often are these noisy community events? When you select a property that is on a noisy street, you know and expect traffic noise. The same goes for a great view of the pool area but that is a 24/7 noise possibility as well. Are you talking about your fellow owners having events and they are talking, yelling, screaming, laughing or blowing big horns? There are some noises that you will need to accept withing reason when you live in a HOA situation where everyone shares some portion of the developement.

If the noise is beyond what you can bear and the community is entitled to hold these events in the common area, then you should either join in or do what you probably do not wish to do. It will be your choice . As has been said, our signing any petition as not being residents of your community will not do a bit of good. Only members of your association can petition your Board. Sorry but that is the way these things work.

Thank you for your feedback. The event is for the whole community of about 2000. The area is about the size of a community playground without the equipment. The location was just changed from being in the village shopping center large lot to this common area. Loud means the same giant speaker that was in this large lot is set up across the street from my house. The house vibrates and it is loud. I did call the police but they said it has be be after 6pm. I understand non-residence may not help. It's still nice to know other understand my plight.
