Kurt,
Do a web search for folrida statuets and it will take you to the state web site. If your a condo association you want florida statue 718 if you are a HOA 720.

These laws do take presedence over your HOA documents and will reference where in them they overrule or dont apply.

Good a.m Kurt---- The 2006 Florida State Statute 720 is GREAT...... I also have a link to how and why the HOA task force was created in Florida back in 2004----- There are some new Statutes that will be taking effect in July 2007 that are not yet part of the link you will be referencing....If there is anything in particular you are looking for please let us know as I have read and reread those things till I can recite them in my sleep.....As a potential (fingers crossed) BOD Member I feel they are required reading here in Florida so you can keep your members informed and other BOD Members.....Linda C

Click the link on the right of our forum that points to the "Community Associations Network" website. They have a great library of articles and links to the state statutes.

Let me suggest The Law of Florida Homeowners Associations, for $11.55 at Walmart.com. It is in its sixth edition and written by two experienced HOA attorneys in Tallahassee, Florida.

It does not just quote Florida statutes back to you but presents information in language uncommon to attorneys (you can really understand what they are saying). They give excellent array of example forms from meetings and minutes to committees and budgets.

In my opinion it is an excellent first reading to get a good start on understand the way a Florida HOA should operate.

Hope this helps.
