I'm on the board in my condo unit and we finally have to decide about enforcing the 'piercing the exterior wall' bylaw in the CCRs.
My question is this.
We have the power to remove the wind chimes as clearly stated but is it worth the back lash and appearing of being too anal by everyone?
Most chimes are fine but we have to consider these issues if we don't enforce:
1. enforcing lights, hose holders, other decorations and not enforcing wind chimes
&
2. damage caused by the screw over time. screw is removed and water can get in, including termites.
For #1, i see its an issue for not enforcing 'all' rules and we can be eventually sued in the future for this
For #2, its the future damage that can happen. Also, what would you do as to fix the hole. Hire an insured handy man to remove, fill and paint that hole and bill the owner?
