I am currently acting as the interum president of our HOA. The Developer is done with development and wants to transfer ownership by Spring of this year (2007). We have been asked to get Bylaws, is it possible to have an example? Where would I finds Bylaws? This is new to allof us , yet we really want to get going. Help in Texas. GA

There are probably plenty of other examples available online also.

Gail these are our by-laws, the items in blue are recent changes that Ohio allowed/mandated to be made. Items in red or bold are simply highlights I made when I printed it for quicker refrence.

Gail, good By-laws will follow the requirements of Texas legislation including corporation statutes. Also, consider using guidelines from Robert's Rules of Order. While not in Texas, there are examples of HOA controlling documents available at www.CypressGreensHOA.com which may provide guidance. Also, you may wish to search this board for discussions on conducting a "transition audit".
