A new Property owners association has bought out the old company without any of the property owners voting on it and raised the monthly regime fees by 50%...is that legal? And what can I do about it?

Carrie, I think you are referring to a new Developer buying out the old Developer. The association remains the same. Check you Declaration of CC&Rs to determine the legal proceedure for increasing the assessment. Not sure what you are referring to by "regime fees".
