HOA in new jersey. our bylaws state that the Board may establish an ARC consisting of three members and each member of the ARC shall serve for a term of one year. As this is up to our Board to appoint the members, is the term served written in granite or is this also up to the Board to determine. Thanks, Tom

Board's committee, Board's discression to disban or remove a committee member. I have never seen a term limit on ARC committee members. It might be a good idea to make sure that committee members do not become entrenched in their spot and new members always have a newer perspective of the situation. But in the end, the ARC works under the Boards control.

I think you answered your own question. If your bylaws state that each member serves for a term of one year, then that's how long they serve. However, at the end of one year they can be re-appointed to serve for another year, and so on.
