I understand that Washington State allows closed BOD meetings. I don't think this is a good thing but that is for another day. My question is this, we residents know that some members of our board is having closed meetings even though they deny it. The are also not inviting all BOD memebers to these meetings which must be a violation of the law. Are they required by law to publish and distribute minutes of these meetings. Thanks for any help you can give. We are in the process of trying to recall this board as they have a private agenda which is in direct opposition to the wishes of the members.

Hi Bob,

Welcome to the forum. Community Associations Network, a sponsor of this forum, provides links to State laws. Their page for Washington State can be found at:

http://www.communityassociations.net/washington.html

The links to the laws are on the left side of the page when you scroll down.

To see about the requirement of minutes being published, notice of meetings or the requirement of having open meetings you should check your Associations Governing Documents, the State Condominium law and the State NonProfit Corporation Act.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Tim
