Can anyone provide a .pdf format or word formatted document that I can use as a generic template to produce an RFQ or an RFP? I am a newly elected Board Member of a 33-unit community in Texas. Our Board wants to obtain bids on landscaping and I can see that producing an RFQ (request for qoute)or an RFP (request for proposal) is the most time-conducive way to organize exactly what we want and to get appropriate bids. I've been scrolling around to numerous websites trying to find something like this to no avail. Up until now our property manager, who is also an owner, has obtained all bids for contractors very informally and our new Board wants to have interaction on the process and approval of contractors. Thanks for any help!

You know that bids work in reverse? What I mean is that contractors usually draw up their own terms. Any member can suggest a contractor to do the work. The board may vote to make the job available for people or contractor's to submit bids. After the bids are received, then they can be discussed and voted on.

I had to change out our lawncare people in the past a few times. I would show them the work plan of what needed to be done and they would come back with something in writing. It's just a good idea before getting the bids that everyone is on the same page of what they expect from the contractor before interviewing them equally...
