Does anyone know the definition of "Single Family Dwelling" in the state of California? Our CCR's say all units must be used in this way.

Units are 2 story attached townhouses. Main entrance is from the front, bedrooms are in the rear of unit. We have a tremendous amount of homeowners who have now installed locks on the outside of their rear sliding bedroom doors (originally came with locking mechanism on inside only) and converted that space to a rental.

Owner lives upstairs, renter downstairs. Entering from different locations.

Does this go against "Single Family Dwelling" definition?

Hi Thomas:

USLEGAL.com: http://definitions.uslegal.com/s/single-family-dwelling-house/

Defines Single Family Dwelling as:

A single family dwelling house is a residence housing one family or household or one that is designed for one family only.
