Our HOA is tring to improve communication channels with all residents (especially rentals), so someone suggested that we offer a Real Estate corner on our HOA website where owners my list their offerings, both rentals and sale properties at no cost. The whole idea here was to be able to better track some of the rental properties. Although the absentee owners are supposed to provide the HOA with a copy of the tenant lease, they never do. Also, a lot of times, the P.M. and the HOA does not even know that the property is a rental.

Has anyone thought about listing rentals and sale properties on the HOA website for free? Are there any disclaimers or caveats here to look at, if we decide to do this?

I have seen homes listed for sale on an HOA website, to me it is a nice service to offer your community. I would however consult a professional and make sure you have disclaimer on the site that tells potential buyers that the HOA is not involved in the sale.

Good idea. Often residents have friends who are interested in living there too. When my brother died and I had to sell his townhouse, I had several neighbors' friends clamoring for it just from word of mouth that it was available. Harold
