Has anyone ever seen any studies on the hazards of leaving trash (even in plastic bags) outside condo doors.....only to be picked up by the owner at a
later time and taken to the trash bins? I am attempting to find some studies that MIGHT have been done on this subject.

Hi Alex:

Have not seen any studies; however, it is common knowledge trash outside of proper bins or receptacles will eventually attract critters and rodents. I would think in a condo an infestation of mice would be difficult and more costly to eliminate compared to a single family home.

Why are you looking for studies on the subject?

All it takes is some common sense. You don't need any studies to prove that it's not a good thing.

You live in FL - trash left outside attracts everything from wild animals like raccoons, armadillos and possums - even bears, in some parts - to rodents to domestic animals like dogs and cats that can be harmed by eating what they find in the bags. Many communities have rules against leaving bags of garbage outside without being in a can and if you're thinking of passing such a rule I don't think you need studies to prove that it happens.

Hazard/smazard unless your CC&R's are totally nonexistent it is a violation and should be dealt with like any other violation.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions
