We recently had our development turned over by the developer/builder and are starting "transitioning" The new Board, of which I am the president does not agree that we need to hire an attorney that is an expert in HOA law. Some members feel we can do it ourselves. There are still unresolved issues with the builder and development which involves the township.

We are only 40 homes, however, I feel that it would be irresponsible to transition without an attorney to protect our Associations best interest.

We are meeting in 45 minutes to vote. Any QUICK advice on this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Maureen:

Nothing like last minute.

Depending on the unresolved issues with the builder and development, would potentially determine in essence what type of attorney you may need. At some point the developer may no longer be in the picture so you do want to try and insure any issues are resolved before he disappears, the quicker the better.
