Our association was incorporated in Florida in 1978. I read somewhere that we must "reincorporate" before the 30 year anniversary or risk having to obtain majority approval of all homeowners in order to continue as a homeowner association. I have not been able to find any definitive word on this and our attorney knows nothing of it (this may indicate we need a new attorney). Do any of you in Florida know what this is about?

Les,
An association does not have to be incorporate, but it is desirable. I don't know about Florida but usually a business has to pay every year (or two) to continue their state incorporation status. I think you may be confusing the Declarion of CC&Rs with being incorporated. Some Declarations have a 30 year statement which is automatically renewed every 10 years.
