Has anyone come across any articles that would hold convincing arguments
for prohibiting BBQ grills on individual condo unit patios?...any of the pros and
cons?

Go to your local Fire Marshall or fire department. I am sure they have enough convincing photographs and scars to prove why it's a bad idea...I am even sure your Fire Marshall would come and speak at a meeting IF it entailed getting rid of them.

It can depend on what type of grill or where the grilling is taking place to make a full assessment. Most apartment complexes have it in their lease agreements NO GRILLS on patios etc... However, if a CONDO has a common area or parking lot area far enough from the building then that may be a compromise for those who want to grill.
