We have just installed the card swipe system for admission to our pool which I totally agree with. The pool committee with the BOD approval has decided only 1 card per household free and 1 purchased card. I am a homeowner and lot owner(Class A) with the same associaiton dues and special assessments for the lot as for the home. I have been denied a free card on my lot because they are not giving cards to multiple property owners. If you are only a lot owner you can recieve a card if you are not living there. Can they deny a multiple property owner a card per each property?

Suppose you only had a lot: would you get a free pool card?

Yes they can do that unless the documents state otherwise. It is doubtful the docs cover such minutia.

But even the free cards are not free, you paid for it.

I am a little slow in thought but why would they have the right. I am expected to pay the same assessments, etc, maintain the property but the pice of property would not have the amenity priviledges?

This is what I would do, if I were in your shoes: I would get in their faces and demand a "free" card for each property. You have paid for two "free" cards. Go get them.

You always have the right to fight; you might not always have the firepower to win, but if you don't fight, you are guaranteed to lose.

i think you have the right to get one per lot, but it depends on what the regulations state... if they used the word "household", then they have added yet another word needing to be defined into the mess.

I would have made the reg "one card per member" or "one card per lot" or something already defined. Ask them to define household, and then ask them why YOUR empty lot is different than another empty lot, and watch them stammer.

good luck

Christine.

You absolutely are entitled to one free card for every lot that you own. You get 1 vote for each and , 1 free card for each. This is a no brainer. You pay dues, the same for both lots. As was posted above, you demand to have the 2nd card for free.

Christine,

Our HOA attaches pool cards to each account. Each account is attached to a single property. You should get two cards free. They cost about $5 retail for HOA. You're dealing with a power trip.
