I want to respect the rules of this forum, so I won't advertise myself or the company I work for. If I can be of service to you the moderator's can feel free to move me to a different section. I must bring to light a product that is getting way too little recognition, but that is such a drastic saving solution. If your HOA is responsible for street lighting, Garage structure lighting, or even single screw in hallway lighting, making the switch to Induction lamps could save your HOA up to 60% in energy costs. For those that have never heard of Induction, it is by no means new. The technology has been around since the late 1880's. Other technologies have just seen more press coverage. There is not another product out there right now that could make such a huge impact in your HOA budget. Not only in terms of lowering the base electric bill, but also alot of associated fees. Induction lighting fixtures last 100,000 hours. That is not a misprint. 100,000. just the maintenence savings alone is huge. I agree that turning this forum into a sales platform will only open a door for others. This is not lawn maintenence, painting, or any other average service, where the cost for one service or the other is debated, this is a product that can produce substantial savings to probably 80% or better of this forums members. I can go into alot more detail, specific numbers, costs, and savings, and answer any questions if the mod's can put me in a suitable place.

Thank you

Bulb prices seem high. I think we will stick with CFL.

I will go along with you Steve,

I most likely won't be around 100,000 hours from now and probably neither will the HOA. Pretty pricey for the average association.

If you factor 50% useage thats less than 25 years. I hope my HOA is here in 25 years, I'm only 30!

The longevity of the bulbs is only one small factor. The fact that they replace a unit that draws twice the energy usage, and save huge on maintenence costs is where the majority of the savings comes from. As far as cfl's are concerned, your average cfl is $4.00, rated at 8,000, typically lasts 3,000 hours. the induction replacement for the cfl costs $25, rated at 60,000 hours, bulbs still in the test rack long after 60,000, warranted for 5 years. that is where you factor in the cost of the maintenence man changing a cfl aprx 20 times over the life of an induction plus the cost of the bulb, then the savings become aparent, and possibly huge. I have counted some of the outside bulbs on the condos around where i live, and some of them are over 1,000. avg maintenence man at $10.00 an hour X what it takes to change 1,000 bulbs, all on different floors = huge savings. The parking garage lights are an even bigger savings. replace the average metal halide, or sodium vapor bulb with an induction fixture, instantly your utility cost for that fixture just dropped by normally 50%. those bulbs or rated at 100,000 hours and are warranted for ten years. aside from the monthly saving on the utility bill, factor in the maintenence savings again, and the difference is huge. the savings is not the only factor with these bulbs. the light output, and quality is far beyond other light sources. we have replaced bulbs on a condo in alabama that had two cfl's per fixture with one induction bulb, and the residents remarked on the quality and brightness of the light. in that application one replaced two. now they are saving even more. now they are only burning 23 watts instead of 46, and they don't pay maintenence fees every 3,000 hours x 2. sure there is an upfront cost, as there is with anything. this is one upfront cost you will actually start seeing payed back in your next electric bill, and at the end of year maintenence cost.
I am more than willing to answer any questions. also, i am not a salesman at heart, I have this job because I know and beleive in my product, and it has proven itself to me to be a substantial savings, not only in the wallet, but in the green aspect. Also my brother and I both are energy conservation minded. He works for an all electric car company.

Thanks

Induction lighting Specification:

We need to make several points clear about induction lighting. Self ballasted units are rated from 40,000 to 50,000 hours and are unstable over 50w. That being said there are two different types of retrofit kits. external ballasted units are rated from 60,000 hrs to 100,000 hours depending on the type.

The second type is self-ballasted intended for self contained Compact Induction lighting. These range from 15 to 50w. These products struggling to achieve market success to from performance but from price. forward looking customers are seeing the long term benefits of replacing a 6~10 hr CFL with a product tat lasts 4+ times longer.

The savings when replacing to external ballasted products is +56% when HID is replaced. Recently a NEW quantum leap in lighting has just taken place. There is now a Screw-in external ballasted retrofit kit for HID lighting so retrofitting is as easy as swapping ballasts and screwing in a new lamp.

Costs: Induction lighting cost 1/2 or less than LED like replacements. Induction lamps are a logical replacement for med wattage 150~175w HID lamps. Induction lights are clean white 83CRI so the lights is improved, time span is up to 5 times longer, maintenance costs are reduces and the energy costs are cut my over 50%.

I have attached a Lumen depreciation curve for Induction light verses other lighting.

Now that we have a screw-in easy retrofit kit this is a logical strategic choice.
