We have an inhouse manager who is also a board member. (I don't agree with this 100%, but that is what we have.)
The lady who was our manager was here today reprogramming our intergard so that it will accept the 402 area code that we need to make phone calls.
Some residents and one quite vocal say that the current manager should pay the former manager when she does the job of a manager. I think I probably agree with them, but I don't know what to do about it.

Bonnie,

Are you saying that your current property manager is also an elected Director to the Board?

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. I don't agree with it and tried to discourage it by mentioning that board members lose some of their legal protection when they accept pay. When I mentioned this another board member read from our documents where the board has the power to appoint this positions. It is in the minutes that I warned our board about accepting pay for what is considered to be a volunteer position. They may be sorry they did not listen to me. We have a threat of a lawsuit if the members vote to amend our documents to allow animals.
We need wise king Solomon on our board.
