In my community we have some hotheads that don't come to meetings or follow the rules. One of these members was towed and called the manager as is the protocol. He wasn't satisfied with her answer and told her he was going to go to the president's home and knock every 15 minutes until she answered. Well he did it, even going to the back of my home and looking into my window. As a disabled, single female I don't open my door to anyone(can't see out the peep hole, eye trouble, and our town homes don't have any windows in the front). My family and friends know they have to call and let me know they are coming so I will open the door. I did call the police.

Does anyone else have trouble with irate members coming to your homes, and what do you do about it?

thanks
Barbar

Call the police and just keep calling them. That's it. In a HOA it's more difficult as the property is owned by ALL the members and thus "No trespassing" isn't as easily defined. The president who was being harassed by the angry member should have called the police and taken legal steps to stop it.

There is a line between Professional responsibility in a HOA and a PERSONAL one. Your board members and Officers are STILL owners and members of the HOA. They are just in the position they are because they WANTED to be there. Not many people are willing to do that regardless of intentions.

So when a member starts harassing or retailliates they have every right to prosecute the person just like any other citizen. Call the police and create a neighborhood watch if need be. No one is above the law...

You did it. Just call the police if he does it again. Its a police issue, not an HOA issue.
