I am a tad perturbed and really don't know if this is a battle I wish to fight. Our clubhouse has rules like most of if not all HOA's. There is one that is a simple no pets allowed in the clubhouse. Our clubhouse was renovated over the last couple of years. It's been upgraded. It looks great.

Rule #4 states, no pets allowed in the clubhouse.

Our board hosted a "Super Bowl" get together for the community. I didn't attent due to work, but I did walk by as I just got in from work. Our beautiful clubhouse had 4 dogs running around inside. Both sets belong to our HOA President and the Vice Prez. I was talking to someone who left and they said
'Oh the dogs were inside the whole game". I sat in our local spa across from the "party" and watched them open the door and let all four dogs run around the ground floor of our indoor complex why they cleaned the clubhouse. I did ask one homeowner did she know that dogs pets of anykind are not allowed in the room. She said, yes, I know. I don't want to talk about it. ( yes, we are not allowed to have our dogs without a leash either.. and a few homeonwer's have gotten letters about this. )

Exactly what kind of board does this and expects to be taken seriously?? OH ventarama..

Pick a battle or let this one lay?

take it. do it nicely, with a letter to the board laying out the simple facts and observations, making no judgments. then, ask the board to explain, and ask them to codify the exemption/exception in writing for all other owners.

then, just keep pressing the question until you get an answer.

I need to seriously think about this. I do not like putting anything in writing unless I deliver and read it during open session. Otherwise.. letters are disregarded. Along with other written request.. Conveniently forgotten.

I was just so taken back by the blatent disregard for our new clubhouse, and the rules? The very rules our HOA Board put together.. what an example.

I appreciate you advice. I will follow up. I will present this at the next HOA meeting. OI Vey.. Is it just me? There were homeowner's at this event.. doing something like this just makes our board look like well, a bunch exempt from the rules.

Not good. Not good at all.
