Do you feel that many or even your HOA boarders between maintaining your property and sometimes dealing with the most bizarre things?

IE, we have a new set of rules going to be votes on by our board.. ( personally owned cars can NOT have any logos, or advertising on them, for example, a realtor will have to take their magnets off their car, one homeowner drives his company work van... this isn't allowed. )

Not sure what you are asking for... however, i don't think it is uncommon for HOA's to have rules regarding advertising being displayed on lots. Advertising on cars often comes under two separate rules: signage/advertising on the lot, or vehicles parked outside/commercial vehicles not allowed.

Such a rule isn't, in my experience, rare.

Vehicles used for commercial purposes are not allowed to be parked our community. We do have some residents that drive their work vehicles home and they are required to cover the advertising. Blank magnetic covers can be purchased at most sign shops.

Noelle,

You said the new rule state "personally owned cars" cannot have logos, etc then said the rule applies to one member who drives a company work van. Also, what about personally owned pickups and SUVs? Sorry, but this new rule sounds a bit confusing. Doesn't CA law allow the members to review new rules and vote on them? This one probably won't pass!

Sounds a little vague. Don't all vehicles come with a logo that is advertising the make of vehicle. (toyota, ford,gm etc). The sound equipment, ie cd player, radio, is also usually branded with a logo.

Are you supposed to remove that advertising too!!?
