Does anyone have any experience with whether tether-ball / tetherball poles are typically allowed in residential backyards and/or covered by Design/Arch. guidelines?

It is my understanding that this are only available in metal, since I've never seen a wood pole.

My HOA has a wood only rule on full-sized playsets, but does allow trampolines which are always metal.

Rick,

Make sure that the tetherball set is portable and not cemented in. Tis will not be a problem then for it is considered just a toy.

Is the backyard fenced? I guess I have a difficult time with HOA's telling individuals what they can and cannot have within their own backyard behind a 6ft fence on their personal property. If it cannot be seen from the front of the home and detracts from the overall neighborhood, then is there a problem?
