Is the board of an HOA obligated to either post (at a meeting) or send a copy of the subdivision plat map or supply this information to all. According to survey company the road project is " not " a part of the subdivision.

Many HOAs take care of property outside a plat map.
Read your CCRs and if it says the HOA cares for the road, it does.
Our community center is not within our subdivision, but it was deeded over later.

In my county if FL we can access all of the plat maps online through the county court website. Have you inquired as to whether you can get the information yourself.

BB5,

You should have gotten a copy of the plat map along with your HOA documents. All HOA property should be on the map including common area and lot lines and roads. The HOA should not be responsible for distribution of it but I see no reason that if you request a copy, they could not give it to you.

BB5,

Is this a city or county road? If so, is the HOA resp for maintenance? There are city roads that run through my HOA that we are resp. for maintaining.

I don't know that the plat map is something that is generally given to the members of an HOA. I know I never received one in either of the HOAs that I've been a member of. However, a copy should be on file with the BOD and the board should know what obligations the assn may have to maintain roads that may not be a part of the assn.
