Can a Board member who was elected by the homeowners to a specified term (i.e. 2 yrs) just arbitrarily, after 7 months, "swap" terms with another Board member who has a different term length? There is nothing specifically in our documents to address this.

Monica, technically the answer is they should not swap. However, if the other Board members are in agreement then this os essentially the same as both resigning from the Board and the Board appointing them to fullfill the remaining term of the other person. That procedure is technically acceptable under most By-laws but might raise questions from the members.
