Hi, I want to state, before going forward with my question, I will NOT disclose the detail content of the questioned correspondence between me and another BD in our HOA.
So it goes: I (as a BD) sent out an email, after receiving a letter with nomination form from the HOA c/o MM, to all BDs and the MM with the message containing pointing out one violation of state law/bylaws for the unauthorized announcement of the number of opening positions in the letter, and giving two reminders that if the board does not take proper actions, further law violations will occur as the election process continues. Before I sent out the email, I had consulted one BD and a concerned homeowner making sure the message was w/o fault and the issue properly addressed. The next day I received an email response from another BD starting with "stop sending these crazy emails, .." and ending with "stop with this harassment." In the content of the response, nothing was addressed/touched from the subject/issue of my message (law violation related to election). Rather the BD put in his speculation and imagination on my intention to accomplish a ridiculous self-benefit goal for myself as a BD. I was shocked and speechless at the moment I read the response. I admit that I am a newly appointed BD and possess very weak social/political skill, but still can't imagine such nonsense could exist. I did not accuse any person including the MM for the law violation and just wanted to point out the fact. I admit I was saying that the board has violated the law, but in the matter of fact, I myself am one of the board member and the letter with the unauthorized announcement was sent by the name of "Board of Directors" without anyone's signature! I think I need to say that the BD who sent me the response is not the president.
I reckon that even my finding of law violation is false, at worst I need to be disputed and corrected, not to be accused for harassment without any cause! I am still holding my response to the BD for still yet figuring out what is this all about. Maybe the much more experienced HOA directors here could render some insights or at least tips on this matter. Thanks
