Our Board Member constantly hire their children and the spouses. No one else has a chance. Last election our payroll was $30,000 over budget, the other residents know this is a lot of bull, but they can't do anything about this, or won't. Also, one Board memeber is a long distance truck driver and is in attendance by cell phone. Her husband is the other driver and can hear all that is being said. That is not kosher either, right?

Please help, this is long over due and URGENT. Please help.

Thnx

Florence,

I'm not sure what type of help you are looking for. As others have said in different posts, it is up to you and your neighbors to help yourself. This forum can offer advise based on your postings and personal experiences but that is all that we can do, offer advise. It will be up to you to decide to accept or reject the advise and act on it.

Asking the same question various ways with no new information typically doesn't change the advise given. As was answered in your previous post about the one board member being a truck driver and attending meetings via cell phone. It's not unheard of and as long as all in the meeting can hear their responses, typically via speaker phone, it's legal. The fact that another driver can hear the same conversation is no different then you or another member attending the meeting and hearing the same thing.

The only real way to change what you are describing is for you and/or your neighbors to step forward and volunteer to take on the duties of running the Association and see if you can become elected. I would also suggest, if you haven't been already, to attend as many board meetings that you can between now and your annual meeting so you understand how things are currently being ran. Read up and study your Associations governing documents and State laws so you know how the Association should be running. While at the Board meetings, politely ask questions to things you don't understand and provide information, citing documents as needed, to things that the board might be doing that crosses the line.

Hope this helps.

Tim
